MUA Pearl Eyeshadow review and swatches

15 September 2013

Hello Everybody I'm back! Today I'm here to talk about MUA Pearl Eyeshadow's! These are new to my collection and at £1 each you can't go wrong! I got them in three shades, Shade 24 which is a pink shimmer, Shade 7 which is an emerald green shimmer and Shade 10 which is a navy blue shimmer.

I am VERY impressed with these eyeshadow's. I love all of MUA products and are one of my favourite brands, but these eyeshadow's are very very good for how inexpensive they are. They come in big single sized pots and you get 2g of product in each, so will last you a long time.

SWATCHES:

This shimmer is Shade 24 is such a pretty shade, I find myself reaching for it more often than the others, as its my favourite one out of the three. Its so pigmented and a little goes a long way. It looks nice on its own but I personally prefer using it as a lid colour with some dark brown and maybe even black to create a smokey eye!

Shade 7 Is this gorgeous emerald green colour, I have used this once and created a subtle smokey eye but I'm not used to using bright colours so at the moment I'm not sure how to use this, if you have any ideas, leave a comment below! This colour is one of the most pigmented I have used so for that i'm very impressed.

The last shade I got is Shade 10 which is this navy blue shimmer, it looks brighter in the pan that it is swatched but the colour is gorgeous! I haven't used this yet as it's rather dark and more of a evening eyeshadow and I'm not too sure how to do a dark smokey eye yet!

Here are the eyeshadows swatched, on the left is on top of a primer (MUA primer) and to the right and without a primer...

I'm sorry for the left side being a bit out of focus, I need to play around with the settings! As you can see the colour pay off is great with a primer, the photo doesn't really do it justice and I apologize but I love the shades! Plus the lasting power is incredible! They last on me all day and I had to scrub to get the swatch off my arm!

I do find you need a primer for the pigment to be a lot brighter (as you can will see in swatches above) but even without a primer are great for a more subtle colour! I will defiantly be buying more of these as the colour range is rather large so I will end up with a big collection!

Leave some comments if you want to see some looks on these colours and I'll speak to you all soon!

  2. I have one of these in shade 30 which is a gold and it's amazing! I think these singles are better than the shades in their palettes, they seem more pigmented? Love the colours you got :) x

  3. I love their eye shadows. So cheap and really good quality. Have you tried the light shade (I think it's number one?) It's an awesome inner eye highlight :)

  6. These colours are beautiful! You should post a tutorial of how to apply them! I'm kind of clueless when it comes to applying any eyeshadow other than neutral colours. Lovely post though!

  7. I love the pictures... which camera did you use? Unfortunately I made a palette using these mono eyeshadow but they all broke because the palette fell down from my shelf. :/
