January Favourites

31 January 2013

I can't believe January is nearly over already! It's been dark, rainy, snowy and gloomy all month and I can't wait for summer to be here. I have never done a favourite's post before so I hope you enjoy reading, as I enjoy reading other peoples! Also, I changed the background for my photo's and I personally think they look so much better, but let me know in the comments below if you prefer a coloured background or just plain white.

EYELASH CURLERS

I have never used eyelash curlers before in my life up until now. I always watch a lot of YouTube and always see the guru's using them, and wanting to get a pair myself to see what all the fuss was about. I have naturally long eyelashes anyway, but they are not so much 'curly'. These particular ones were from Boots for around £4, but looking in H&M the other day, I seen a pretty pink pair for around £2.50 - £3, which I thought was really good. I am glad I brought these, because I find myself using them every day whilst doing my makeup. I had heard horror stories in the past about people ripping out eyelashes etc, but I love them and will continue to use them for a long time.

MUA LIPSTICK AND POWDER

I had been hearing quite a lot about the MUA products and how they are such a bargain and they are good quality for how cheap they are. I won an MUA eye shadow palette in a giveaway a few months ago, and I am so in love with it and the quality is so good. I went into my local Superdrug and went to the MUA stand/counter and had a look around and I was so surprised at how cheap the products were. I had been looking for a decent nude lipstick and a setting powder for a long time. I was a bit skeptical about using these products because I didn't think they would be very good, but for £1 each I was pleasantly surprised  The lipstick is very moisturizing and the colours are very pigmented. The powder doesn't apply cakey and really does give a good matte finish. I will defiantly be buying these 2 products again.

BOURJOIS MASCARA

I am so pleased with this mascara, It was on sale in Tesco for £3! when usually they are retailed at around £9 - £10 which I think for £3 is an absolute steal! It does give you an incredible amount of volume without making them 'clumpy'. They lengthen your lashes and you only need a few coats. I am in love with this mascara and will buy it again!

NATURAL COLLECTION BLUSHER

I have used Natural Collection makeup before and I really like how it feels on my skin as it is fragrance free and not tested on animals or anything else so I am pleased with it for that reason. This blusher is a darker colour as I wasn't expecting it to be as pigmented as it was, but I really do like this blusher. It applies smooth and looks natural when blended in properly, for only £1.99 I will defiantly be buying this again too!
Link me in the comments if you have done a January Favorite's post, I would love to read it!

    1. They are great value for money, they really are. I think the most expensive thing I had seen was an eye shadow palette which had 15 colours in for around £8! They are really cheap but such good quality xxx

  2. I use plain backgrounds on my photos too and personally prefer it, some people might think it looks a bit boring but I think it shows the product up so much better! I'm a fan of the MUA lipsticks as well, even though they're so cheap they still work really well x

    1. I think it looks simple yet more 'professional' than having them dumped on a bed sheet, I really am surprised with the MUA products and I am a fan now too! xxxx
